| Security Clearance Talent Pipeline Program | Through the Security Clearance Talent Pipeline program, MD Labor helps employers build scalable workforce models to recruit, retain, and transition talent into high-demand roles requiring TS/SCI and TS/SCI with polygraph clearances. Eligible applicants may receive up to $250,000 in grant funding to deploy industry-driven strategies that address candidate attrition and employer costs during lengthy federal clearance processing. Successful applicants will propose high-impact interventions, such as paid bridge employment, clearance navigation, and participant stipends of up to $10,000 per candidate. | Road to Careers Grant Program | The Road to Careers grant initiative expands opportunities for Marylanders seeking careers in the skilled trades within the transportation, transit, and construction industries. This program integrates high-quality skills training with comprehensive supportive services tailored to these sectors. It is specifically designed to assist individuals who face barriers to employment, including but not limited to, those who are low-income, justice-involved, English language learners, and youth who have aged out of foster care. A total of $4 million in funding is available, with awards capped at $500,000 per grantee, open to a diverse range of training providers across the state.

Mandatory FAMLI Registration - Maryland Employers Need to Act Now!
Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) is a new program in Maryland, and all employers with at least one employee localized in Maryland are now required to register with FAMLI. There are no exceptions under state law. Starting January 1, 2027, employers are responsible for contributions that will be paid into a fund administered by the State. Alternatively, employers can apply to use a private plan. When benefits become available January 1, 2028, FAMLI will make it possible for eligible employees to take up to 12 weeks of paid, job-protected leave for qualifying events.
