Ruling: OD 25-008 July 9, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Eric Davis is fined $100.00 for failing to keep both feet in the stirrups in the stretch while driving IMMA BE in the 3rd race on July 8th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33 H(6)

Ruling: OD 25-009 July 16, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Gene Long is fined $100.00 for failing to keep both feet in the stirrups while driving AWARD in the 4th race on July 15th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33 H(6)

Ruling: OD 25-010 July 20, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver William Carter is fined $100.00 for excessive use of the whip in the stretch while driving SLIM FAST in the 10th race on July 16th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.03.33.A(9)(a)

Ruling: OD 25-011 July 21, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Driver Jason Thompson is fined $100.00 for inappropriate use of the whip (one-handed whipping) before the ¾ pole while driving PEETIE in the 4th race on July 20th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. All fines are due within 10 days of the ruling, or the Maryland Racing Commission licensee will be suspended until payment is received. COMAR: 09.10.02.33H(17)(b)

Ruling: OD 25-012 July 30, 2025 - Ocean Downs

Trainer Donald Brittingham was the trainer of record on horse RAGTIME RED in the 1st race on July 9th, 2025 at Ocean Downs. Post-race analysis of blood sample #E635703 taken from RAGTIME RED identified the presence of Dexamethasone at a concentration of 24.2 pg/mL+- 0.62 pg/mL. The threshold for this controlled therapeutic medication is 5 pg/mL. As a result, Brittingham is fined $500.00 and must return all purse monies. Additionally, RAGTIME RED is disqualified, finishing first and placed seventh. All purse monies must be returned within 72 hours of this issuance, and all fines are due within 10 days of the ruling. COMAR: 09.10.03.04.B. 1/2 Multiple Medication Violation (MMV) points assessed.
